Deep Rest as Wise Effort

Deep Rest as Wise Effort with Kaira Jewel Lingo, offered by New York Insight

“We must believe we are worthy of rest. We don’t have to earn it. It is our birthright. It is one of our most ancient and primal needs.”― Tricia Hersey, Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto

In this evening of practice, we are invited to return home to our body and mind to discover the wisdom and clarity that can emerge from profound rest. Wise Effort, one of the aspects of the Buddha’s Eightfold Path, includes not just how we choose to engage with the practice and the world around us, but also how we choose to let go and release tension, soften, give ourselves, each other and our planet, a break, a chance to rest, which is the only way we can heal. Wise Effort can also be understood as stepping out of the patterns that govern our world to build coalitions that can offer ourselves and others true refuge and deep rest.

Join us online for this evening which will include a talk, meditation, experiential practices and space for reflection and conversation in community. For more info here.
